In honor of National Library Workers’ Day today, we have rounded up our favorite cheer books for you to check out! These books vary from fiction to non-fiction, and include information from cheerleading uniforms to stunts and tumbling. 1. Cheerleading: Conditioning for Back Handspring & Tumbling Success! By Rik Feeney – This book is for cheerleaders, coaches and parents to improve physical health, athletic performance, and injury prevention. There are suggested exercises for every major muscle group and the book includes forms to track and design a conditioning program specific to the athlete. This book is suggested for ages 7 and up.

2. Three Cheers for…Who? Katie Kazoo, Switcheroo by Nancy Krulik – When Katie takes an interest in cheerleading, Suzanne becomes jealous and starts her own squad, but just for the girls from class 4B. A full on spirit war breaks out, and lands Katie at the top of the pyramid. An excellent read to get a young cheerleader interested. Includes illustrations of cheerleading kids outfits! This book is suggested for ages 7-9 years.

3. Body Before Skill: Sports Performance for Cheerleading by Jessica Zoo – This book will help you find the right balance between being pushed to a peak without being pushed beyond what it is capable of. This reference will help you make the most of your athletes or your own potential. This book is suggested for all ages.

4. 101 Cheerleading Drills by Pam Headridge – this is an authoritative collection of cheerleading-specific and functional exercises for building and maintaining the flexibility, strength, and technique that the sport requires. Includes drills and exercises in step-by-step instructions and easy-to-follow photos. This resource will aide any cheerleader in maximizing his or her skills! This book is suggested for all ages.

5. Dare Me by Megan Abbott - Addy Hanlon has always been Beth Cassidy's best friend and trusted lieutenant. Beth calls the shots and Addy carries them out, a long-established order of things that has brought them to the pinnacle of their high-school careers.
